Images taken in Galapagos, by the German photographer Thomas P. Peschak, are nominated in the photojournalism contest World Press Photo 2018 in the category of Nature
The photographs, nine in all, show birds, iguanas, turtles and other species native to the Enchanted Islands. "Four major ocean currents converge throughout the Galapagos archipelago, creating the conditions for an extraordinary diversity of life".
The work of Thomas P. Peschak has previously been awarded in the World Press Photo, winning the awards in 2011 and 2013. The World Press Photo is considered one of the most prestigious photography contests in the world, and rewards the best of photojournalism every year.
