With the aim of generating business contacts and creating strategic lliances, 34 Galapagos tour operators offered lodging services, boats, and daily tours to 60 tour operators from Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca, Manta, Riobamba and Baños. They met in the first business conference “Workshop Galápagos 2017” that was developed in the Ministry of Tourism. The conference allowed tour operators of the region to conclude deals and generate new offers. Satisfaction surveys were also carried out with suppliers and buyers, in order to get information to improve this activity in future occasions. The Galapagos Tourism Observatory will raise information on the volume of sales, served passengers, profile of visitors, types of tourism
products, among other data that will help to understand the commercial dynamics of the sector. For Andrea Romero, insular zonal coordinator, the business meeting was a unique opportunity to create commercial links between operators, improving the offer of the islands tourist industry.
